After a varied education, from Horticulture to Science, and Science to Ancient Studies, my Business Studies proved to be the most important foundation of my working career. My earliest employment in the Netherlands was to assist talented Dutch Horticulturists with their business development needs, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
After moving to the UK in the mid eighties, I was employed as a Science Technician with an Adhesive Engineering Company, developing competitive, multi-functional products with the potential to be used for the construction of the Channel Tunnel. This was an interesting period, but I also knew this was ultimately not a career I wished to follow. A few years later, the opportunity arose to establish my own IT Company, together with a co-founder, where I remained a Director until 2016.
Above all and foremost, I am a mother of three children, and from their young childhood, I captured every opportunity to take them on many travels around the world, frequently residing at highly rated, luxury hotels. I realised over time, however, that exclusive, private homes or retreats were much more enjoyable for these family holidays or even short business stays, providing the personal attention many conventional hotels were not able to.
This eventually inspired not only a change of lifestyle on my part, but the ambition to create similar, luxurious accommodation in a homely and eco-friendly setting. Therefore, after sailing across part of the Pacific Ocean, I moved and settled at the beginning of 2013 in French Polynesia, where I began work on a new, challenging project, which took a few years to complete and was a labour of love.
Incorporating a personal dream with my business ambition, Sirius Escape offers a luxurious villa as a holiday let on the paradise island of Taha’a, and from where one can explore its neighbouring islands. My passion for adventurous travel, outdoor pursuits and exploring the natural world brought me to this wonderful island, and I hope your stay will greatly inspire your own dreams!
